Every pilot has experienced the one moment in their lives when they just knew that they wanted to fly.

Some begin early, with the intention of making a career of aviation. Others learn later in life and have different and more personal goals.

I have trained pilots as young as 12 years of age and as seasoned as 80. They did just fine and, in all likelihood, so will you.
  • Be realistic about the costs involved, and be sure you'll have sufficient financial resources to complete training. Once you earn your license, it's yours for life. But half way through isn't a good place to stop.
  • Don't let flying impact family or employment obligations.
  • Understand that making the dream a reality requires some work. Your training will be fun and rewarding, but it will take some effort, too.
  • Consider how often you schedule will allow you to train. Flying more often reduces costs. Once a week is recommended.
Orville and Wilbur Wright were once beginners, too

Plan the flight and fly the plan

In aviation, practice may not make perfect. But it will lead to increased proficiency.

Fly it, you'll like it - Schedule a $150 Discovery Flight
First comes our preflight inspection. This is an opportunity to see the aircraft up close and ask any questions about its operation. Then you'll climb into the pilot's seat for an hour long flight experience.

Fly with me on takeoff, then take the controls as you discover how to maintain altitude, climb, descend and turn, and why it's important to trim for airspeed. If you're game we'll try steep turns, and I'll show you how
to meet the FAA's Practical Test Standards, maybe even on our first try. Then we'll navigate back to the airport and land the aircraft together.

You may also bring a friend at no additional cost, and this flight will be logged as training, should you begin to earn your private pilot license.
